Effect:
A random member of the audience cuts the deck into four different piles. 3 random cards from each pile will be put onto each of the other piles. When you turn over the topmost card of each pile, they are all Aces.
Preparation:
Leave all four aces at the top of the deck.
Procedure:
- Ask a random member of the audience to cut the deck into two piles, and ask him/her to divide the two piles into four.
- To better track the Aces intentionally left on top of the deck, the four piles are numbered as one to four, with pile number four being the pile with the aces on top. (This is just to better track the Aces yourself; there is no need to let the audience know about this)
- Ask the volunteer to pick up pile No.1, have them remove the top 3 cards and put them at the bottom of pile No.1. Take the 3 cards from the top and place one card each onto pile 2, 3, and 4
- Continue this procedure with the 3 remaining piles.
- Flip over the top card of each pile and reveal all the Aces.
